Q&A with Oliver

What is your job/position and what are your day-to-day tasks?

As a product manager, I coordinate the new and further development of our products. Product management forms an interface between customer requirements, development and the subsequent implementation of a product. We provide ideas, specifications and develop corresponding concepts.

Which tools do you mainly use for your work?

Microsoft Office products are generally used to visualize the concepts, ideas and specifications. A large part of the coordination takes place via video conferencing using MS Teams, as the colleagues involved throughout the company work at different locations.

What challenges drive you the most?

We focus on our customers and their needs, which means we always try to make our product as optimal as possible for everyone. As every company has individual requirements and processes, this is always a challenge for the design and function of our products.

Where can you best contribute your strengths?

As a long-standing consultant in the field of ERP software and project manager for the introduction of software products at Loy & Hutz, I bring with me a broad spectrum of business processes and business process design. This knowledge forms the basis for the conception of new products and applications.

What do you like most about your job?

The most fun is the variety. As a Product Manager, no two working days are the same. There are always new challenges – both in the area of coordination and in the conception of new and further developments. The possibilities of new technical developments, such as integrating artificial intelligence into our products and making them usable and tangible for our customers, are also exciting.

What are you most passionate about outside of work?

Besides my family, sport takes up a large part of my free time. In addition to tennis, basketball and volleyball, I also go mountain biking from time to time. However, I don’t do the latter as often as I used to and now mostly on an e-mountain bike – you don’t get any younger.
